LD005 - Freedom Will Come

💿 Lost Dubs 005 – Freedom Will Come (2006)

2006 was a year I was digging deep into dub — not just as a sound, but as a philosophy. Freedom Will Come samples the words of an activist dub poet, echoing with the urgency of struggle and the promise of liberation.

“You can only push a dog around so many times before that dog will turn around and bite you.”

This wasn’t about the polished club floor. It was about the other side of dance music — the protest, the poetry, the call for change. Heavy bass, rolling percussion, and the voice of resistance carried through delay and reverb until it felt like a mantra: freedom will come.

Not just a hope — a demand. And the message is as relevant today as it was then — especially in a world where the gap between the wealthy and the working class keeps widening.
