Venus is someone I met while living in Seoul — though I couldn’t tell you exactly when, because they’re the kind of person who feels like they’ve always been part of your life. And my life is better for having known them.
Venus is one of those rare people who make things happen. Things don’t just happen around them — they happen because of them. There’s a sort of magic to people like that, but you have to be open to it. I’ve shared many dance floors with Venus and found myself behind the decks plenty of times because of them, too.
They even visited us at a cottage in Muskoka once, which somehow didn’t feel random at all — not when you know someone like Venus.
This track was commissioned by them in 2012 for a project they were involved in. Walking With Venus is a groovy slow burn at walking pace — less a dance floor jam, more a “drive down the coastline during the gloaming” kind of vibe.
