By 2007 I’d been living in Seoul for three years, and had already spent a decade playing aggressive, bass-heavy music in dark clubs. Maybe it was time to chill out.
Years earlier, when I was looking to travel, I deliberately sought danger — which is how I ended up on an adventure in Bangkok. But this time, I wanted somewhere calm, somewhere peaceful. Two places kept coming up: India and Tibet.
Maybe India is my imagined sound of a place I’d never been. Chill, melodic, meditative. A pause between the heavier edges of my catalog. I still haven’t been to India, but this track is what I thought it might feel like.
